Online-workshop with Manila Bartnik: Latex is an interesting
material. It looks exciting. It’s part of our everyday life. We sleep on
a mattress made of latex. Small children are being comforted by latex
soothers. We wear latex clothing. But what else can you make with latex?
What if the material doesn’t have to be useful? What kind of things can
you develop with it? What kind of things to lie on, to put in your
mouth, to put on or put over? That’s what we want to find out in this
workshop.
Manila Bartnik is an artist living in Osnabrück with her family. In
her work, she examines relationships, connections, and dependencies
between people. She deals with topics that are difficult in our society.
She is interested in questions like: How do we start a conversation
about important and difficult topics? How do we find a common language
for that? And how does that help us change and renew something?
