The event weekend offers all the opportunity to exchange
ideas about low-threshold mediation services. [Low-threshold means: It
is easy to accept the offer. You can simply join in]. What possibilities
do art educators, curators and institutions have in their work to use
new, low-threshold formats?
Together we would like to discuss the possibilities of art education in the symposium tool kit. [A symposium is an event. It is an opportunity to exchange ideas on a topic].
We will exchange ideas in discussion rounds, workshops, break-out
sessions and other participatory formats. [Participatory means: you can
help shape the event.] The outcome of the exchange is still open. We are
asking ourselves the questions: What can art mediation do to connect
people and art? And how can the mediation of contemporary art become
more inclusive? We will discuss these and many other questions with each
other during the symposium. We think: Low-barrier mediation work is
necessary in the future.
At the invitation of the Kunsthalle Osnabrück, the symposium is being
organised by Vincent Schier, Artistic Director of the Kunstverein
Göttingen, and Laura Hartmann, who works as a museum guide at the
cooperation partner Museumsquartier Osnabrück. [A museum guide discovers
new ways of mediation. So that the museum is interesting for all
people].
A publication has appeared on the occasion of the symposium tool kit.
The publication is a tool. You can read it, file it, share it, copy it
or cut it up. The publication is only available as a digital version in
PDF. So it remains free of charge. You can print the publication
yourself. Or send it to others. The publication is available in simple
language in German or English:
