The Kunsthalle Osnabrück has invited three experts to participate in its annual program, “Spirits.” Each of them brings their own perspective to the annual theme.
Sonja Drehlmann is director of the Bistumsarchiv Osnabrück (Osnabrück Diocese Archives). She is very knowledgeable about the Dominican Church as a burial site. The archives hold numerous documents on medieval burial practices, a register of the deceased from the Dominican monastery, and records of a momentous conflict between the Dominicans and the cathedral chapter—a treasure trove of ancestral history that we dare to open only with Sonja Drehlmann.
