The Repair and Sustainability Fair 2nd Chance! is all about the question: How can we make our everyday lives more sustainable? Sustainability is not just about protecting the environment. It is also about: How do we live together in society? Sustainable development is possible if everyone in our society gets involved: politics, business, science and citizens. To achieve this, we need more offers that are good for people and the environment.
For example, instead of buying something new, we can repair broken things. That’s why the Kunsthalle offers Repair Afternoons. They are part of the exhibition Package ready for pickup by Aram Bartholl. At the Repair Afternoons, old electrical appliances can be repaired free of charge. Repair initiatives from Osnabrück and the surrounding area organise the repair afternoons. [Initiative is another word for association or working group.]
The Repair and Sustainability Fair 2nd Chance! is the final event of the Repair Afternoons. Further sustainability offers are presented there. Various initiatives and companies will present their sustainable work. There will also be opportunities to join in: Swapping and sharing, second-hand, community living and gardening, fair consumption, local production, up-cycling - and much more!
The Repair and Sustainability Fair will also feature various talks on sustainability. Experts are invited to give lectures. Visitors can ask questions and discuss issues. There will also be coffee and cake.
Special highlights at the Repair and Sustainability Fair 2nd Chance! include Second-hand fashion and a clothes swap, a sale of repaired electrical appliances and the hands-on repair programme.
