On 15 December, the Kunsthalle Osnabrück releases two publications. One publication on Ibrahim Mahama´s TRANSFER(S) and one publication on Aram Bartholl´s Package Ready for Pickup. Both Ibrahim Mahama and Aram Bartholl will be present for the event. In dialogue with the directors of the Kunsthalle, they will present their publications and reflect on their projects. Other guests will be the curators of TRANSFER(S), Kwasi Ohene-Ayeh and Bettina Klein. Wolfgang Beckermann, First City Councillor, and Patricia Mersinger, Head of the Department of Culture and Project Manager for the anniversary 375 years Peace of Westphalia will be representing the city of Osnabrück.
TRANSFER(S) and Package Ready for Pickup were two big exhibition projects in 2023. They took place as part of the anniversaries 30 Years Kunsthalle Osnabrück and 375 Years Peace of Westphalia. Under the title TRANSFER(S), the artist Ibrahim Mahama wrapped the former Galeria Kaufhof department store building in the centre of Osnabrück. The second part of the project was a symposium [symposium is another word for meeting or conference]. It took place in Mahama´s Red Clay in Tamale, Ghana. With Package Ready for Pickup, the artist Aram Bartholl turned the church at Kunsthalle Osnabrück into a walk-in recycling yard for electrical appliances. [A recycling yard is a collection point for rubbish.] The exhibition space was used for diverse mediation offers such as workshops, repair shops, repair cafés, talks and film screenings.
The publications can be purchased at the Kunsthalle Osnabrück. You can also order them online. On the website from publishing company DISTANZ:
