“PASKUDNIK” moves between the dining table at an Upper Silesian family celebration and a dating app. It deals with questions about gender roles, sexuality, anti-Slavism and Polish–German remembrance culture. [Anti-Slavism is the rejection of or hostility towards Slavic people. It affects people from Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, and Czechia, for example].
In this performance, Tubi Malcharzik explores Polish-German migration history. In other words, when and why people from Poland came to Germany and how they live here, fifty years after the family’s arrival at the Friedland transit camp.
With impressive sounds and stories, the performance creates a space for queer memories and presents a drag figure with a history of migration. [The word queer is a term people use to describe themselves. For example, gay men, lesbian women, bisexual, trans, and inter people use it for themselves].
The performance will be followed by a discussion with madou Klaes and the PASKUDNIK team.
The event is free of charge.
For people aged 16 and over.
