LET’S TALK ARTOTHEK! In 2025, the Artothek at the Kunsthalle Osnabrück will open its doors again. In the Artothek, Osnabrück citizens can borrow art - just like in a library. In this way, the Kunsthalle Osnabrück can give as many people as possible access to art. At the moment, the Artothek is still closed. Kunsthalle Osnabrück is using this time to revise and reorganise the Artothek.
In three talks with representatives of the BBK (Association of Visual Artists) Osnabrück, we are inviting Osnabrück citizens to talk to us about the past, present and future of the Artothek in Osnabrück. The talks take place in the new building in the Kunsthalle Osnabrück. We also always show selected works of art from the Artothek.
On this evening we will talk about the Artothek’s past. Our guest is the artist and graphic designer Johannes Eidt from Osnabrück. Johannes Eidt is closely linked to the history of the Kunsthalle Osnabrück. Many of the artist’s works have been collected by the Kunsthalle over the years. Together we will look at his works from the Artothek and his career as an artist. We will also talk about the role the Artothek plays for artists from Osnabrück. We ask: What is an Artothek and what is its role? How did the Artothek in Osnabrück come about? And what stories can we tell about the Artothek in Osnabrück?
The talk is free of charge.
