European Media Art Festival

The film È noite na América / It’s Night in America (66 min., Brazil, France, Italy 2022) is set in the surroundings of Brasília, the capital of Brazil. And in a zoo in Brazil. It is the habitat of hundreds of rescued animal species. Ana Vaz says about the film: “Anteaters, wolves, owls, forest foxes and capybaras meet biologists, veterinarians, animal keepers and environmental police. The challenge is to preserve life. And thus a complex web of overlapping perspectives emerges. Who are the real prisoners in the end?” Parts of the film are documentary. This means: they depict what really happens. These parts of the film meet moments of horror and fantasy.
