Unfortunately, the following exhibitions and collaborative projects will have to be postponed or cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic:

The IKT Congress, which, planned in cooperation with Kunsthalle Osnabrück, the hase29 and the Marta Herford, which aimed to bring international curators to Osnabrück and was set to take place from March 31 to April 5, will be moved to the18th to the 23rd of October 2020. For more information and registration for the congress please visit the IKT website.

The 33rd European Media Art Festival, set to take place from April 22 to June 1st at Kunsthalle Osnabrück, has been cancelled due to the coronavirus. The EMAF, a long-standing collaborator of the Kunsthalle, will devise alternative formats to their programme in the coming months. The Kunsthalle Osnabrück is inclined to stay a partner and place for support further on. Find more information on that here.

Since the planning of larger projects in the near future is uncertain at the moment, we unfortunately had to cancel the exhibition of the New York stipendiary of Lower Saxony, Fritjof Mangerich, which was set to open in June. The Ministry for Science and Culture of Lower Saony, as well as the Niedersächsische Sparkassenstiftung, who are the initiators of the fellowship, have decided to move the exhibition to a different year in a different institution in Lower Saxony.

On march 1st opened the exhibition „Sympathetic Resonance“ by artist Ayumi Paul at the Kunsthalle Osnabrück. Ayumi Paul’s work centers around sound and noises. In preparation for the exhibition, upon invitation of Ayumi Paul, 100 women from Osnabrück met in the Kunsthalle over the course of almost an entire year to practice singing freely. A polyphonic, fluid sound sculpture developed out of the joint project, which could only be experienced by the public for two weeks, due to our unexpected shutdown. Therefore we have decided to extend the exhibition as soon as the Kunsthalle opens again. Until then, you can try Ayumi Pauls breathing excersice „I look at the flower — the flower looks at me“ at home and thereby take the fluid sound sculpture beyond the walls of the Kunsthalle. It is available on the website of Kunsthalle Osnabrück.
